We were prepared to get wet on the weekend, but boy were we happy when our day of gardening at Canuck Place was met with big bright sunshine, and nothing but blue skies as far as the eye could see.

It was beyond exhilarating to play our part in maintaining the beautiful gardens of Canuck Place Children’s Hospice, and there was certainly no shortage of sweat and smiles!

The idea of aiding Canuck Place Children’s Hospice by taking care of their gardens and making the environment of the patients who reside there that much more breathtaking was beyond motivating. It gave our team the strength to keep on digging, pulling and scrubbing. Some of our team learned that they had more muscle than they thought; others overcame the challenge of trimming the surprisingly resilient buttercup flower. However there is one thing everyone shared together apart from sampling our hosts’ scrumptious cookies, and that was the experience of making a positive impact in our community.

We look forward to working with Canuck Place again in the future. There will be many more good times to be had there!

Nice work guys, it was hot that day. Reach out to us next time you do this, some of our peeps may want to help you too, personally I love getting my hands dirty.

    • Hi Gemma, thanks for your comments. Yeah, I hosed down my face with cold water a couple of times. I’ll definitely keep you and your team in mind next time we volunteer again. It’ll be fun to join forces with you for the kids and their families at Canuck Place!
