    Common questions

    Is this really free?+

Yes — 100% free. You can see your overall score, category grades, and the top 3 highest-impact findings instantly with no signup. Unlocking the full report (every finding + a branded copy emailed to you) only asks for your email so we can send it. No credit card, no spam, unsubscribe anytime.

What's the difference between this and a real audit?+

This snapshot covers ~25 automated checks across SEO, AEO, and GEO. Our paid audits dig into 200+ signals including competitor benchmarking, Core Web Vitals, content gap analysis, backlink profile, and a custom 90-day roadmap.

Why does AEO and GEO matter?+

AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) decides whether AI engines like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews quote your page directly. GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) decides whether they recognize your brand as a trusted entity at all. Both are required to win AI search.

How accurate is the AI Visibility score?+

It's a directional indicator based on the strongest known signals AI engines use: schema markup, entity links, AI bot accessibility, and Wikidata presence. A full AI visibility test requires querying each engine live, which we do as part of our paid programs.

Do you store the URL I check or share my data?+

We store the anonymous snapshot result (URL, scores, findings) so we can give you a shareable link and show a 'since last scan' comparison the next time someone checks the same URL. No emails, IP addresses, or personal identifiers are saved. We only fetch what any public crawler can already see.

Which page on my site should I check?+

Start with your homepage — it carries the most brand and entity signals. Then run your top revenue pages (key service or product pages) since those are what AI engines will actually cite.

Why does my site get a low score even though I rank well on Google?+

Traditional Google rankings reward backlinks and on-page SEO. AI engines also weigh structured data, entity grounding (Wikidata, sameAs links), AI bot access, and answer-style content. A site can rank #1 on Google and still be invisible to ChatGPT if those signals are missing.

What is llms.txt and do I need it?+

llms.txt is an emerging standard (similar to robots.txt) that tells large language models which content is canonical and how your site is structured. It's not required, but sites that publish one give AI crawlers a cleaner signal and tend to be cited more consistently.

Are AI crawlers like GPTBot and ClaudeBot safe to allow?+

Generally yes, if you want to appear in ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity answers. Blocking them in robots.txt is the single fastest way to make your brand disappear from AI search. The snapshot checks your robots.txt against the major AI user-agents and flags any that are blocked.

What's the fix for a missing Wikidata entity?+

Create a Wikidata item for your business at wikidata.org, fill in the basics (name, description, country, instance of, official website, sameAs links to LinkedIn / Facebook / Crunchbase), then add the Wikidata URL to your Organization schema's sameAs array. This is the single biggest GEO move most sites haven't made.

    How often should I re-run the snapshot?+

After any meaningful change — new schema, redesign, content update, robots.txt change — and at least quarterly. AI engines refresh their index of trust signals on their own cadence, so improvements often show up in citations within 2–6 weeks.

Does the snapshot check my whole site or just one page?+

It does both. We do a deep analysis of the URL you submit, then crawl up to 20 additional pages discovered from your sitemap and homepage navigation — prioritizing service, location, and conversion pages — and run a per-page check on each. Site-wide files (robots.txt, sitemap.xml, llms.txt) are also probed. For a full site-wide crawl across hundreds of URLs, that's part of our paid audit.
